Sports : Team India is currently playing a five-match T20 series on Australia tour. The third match of this series was played in Hobart on 2 November, in which India performed brilliantly and defeated Australia by 5 wickets. With this victory, India took the lead in the series, but in the meantime, BCCI has taken a big decision regarding Team India’s left arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav. He was kept out of the playing eleven in the third match, and now it has been decided to release him from the entire squad and call him back to India.
Why did BCCI invite Kuldeep Yadav to India?
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has clarified the reason for recalling Kuldeep Yadav from Australia. Actually, India has to play a two-match Test series against South Africa at home from 14th November. Keeping in mind the preparations for this Test series, Kuldeep has already been instructed to return to India. According to the official statement of BCCI, after returning home, Kuldeep Yadav will be a part of the India-A team in the second match of the ongoing unofficial Test series against the South Africa-A team.
Match between India A and South Africa A
A two-match unofficial test series is being played between India A and South Africa A team. The second match of this series will be held on 6th November at the ground of BCCI Center of Excellence. In the first match, the Indian team had won by 3 wickets. The objective of this series is to give young and test preparation players an opportunity to play in international level conditions. With the inclusion of Kuldeep, the bowling of India A team will become stronger.
KL Rahul and Mohammad Siraj will also be included
Apart from Kuldeep Yadav, fast bowler Mohammad Siraj and wicketkeeper batsman KL Rahul have also been included in the Indian team for the second unofficial test match. Rishabh Pant will be the captain of the team in this match. In the first match, he captained the team brilliantly and led it to victory. This step of BCCI clearly shows that emphasis is being laid on bringing the key players into the rhythm of the longer format for the upcoming South Africa Test series.
India A team squad announced
Many experienced and young players are included in the India-A team for the second unofficial test against South Africa-A. Rishabh Pant (captain), KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, Sai Sudarshan (vice-captain), Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Harsh Dubey, Tanush Kotian, Manav Suthar, Khalil Ahmed, Gurnoor Brar, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep and Kuldeep Yadav have been included in the team. This squad also gives an indication of the future Test plans of the Indian team.
India’s team for the remaining matches of T20 series
Some changes have been made in the Indian team for the fourth and fifth matches of the ongoing T20 series against Australia. Suryakumar Yadav will remain the captain of the team, while along with him Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Tilak Verma, Shivam Dubey, Axar Patel, Jitesh Sharma, Varun Chakraborty, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Rinku Singh, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar are part of the team.
Priority for test preparation
This decision taken by BCCI shows that the Indian team management no longer wants to make any compromise regarding the upcoming Test series. Preparing players like Kuldeep Yadav, Siraj and Rahul for red ball cricket in advance is part of the team’s strategy. This will not only strengthen the Test team, but will also help the players to find their rhythm in the longer format.
