IHPL 2025: The Indian Heaven Premier League (IHPL) started from October 25 in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. Many foreign players including former West Indies player Chris Gayle took part in it. Meanwhile, on the night of Sunday, November 2, the organizers of this league suddenly left everything and ran away. Due to this many foreign players are stuck in hotels. This league was to run till November 8, but now the historic Bakshi Stadium of Srinagar is lying deserted.
What is the whole matter?

Former West Indies player Chris Gayle, former New Zealand cricketer Jesse Ryder and Sri Lanka's Thisara Perera participated in this league. This league was organized by the Youth Society in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association. The patron of IHPL is former Indian cricketer Surinder Khanna.

Melissa Juniper, a foreign umpire trapped in the hotel, said that the organizers had fled the hotel. He has not paid any money to the hotel, players and umpires. We have made an agreement with the hotel so that the players can go home. A senior official of the Residency Hotel said that the Youth Society had booked about 150 rooms for the players 10 days ago.
The official said that he had promised a grand program with stars like Chris Gayle to promote Kashmir tourism. On Sunday morning, we learned that he had gone missing without paying the dues. Some players including Chris Gayle had already checked out on Saturday, 1 November. Former Indian all-rounder who played in the league Parvez Rasool Said that some players were stopped from leaving the hotel for some time, until the matter reached foreign embassies. He said that an umpire from England had to contact the British Embassy.
Players made this allegation
A local player alleged that the organizers had miscalculated the scale and cost of organizing such an event in Kashmir. He told that we got a great opportunity to share the dressing room with international cricketers, but the sponsor probably pulled out at the last moment and due to less fans they ran out of money. There was no dress on the first day. He bought it locally. No player's contract was signed.
An official of Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council said that IHPL President Ashu Dani had demanded police clearance and basic facilities and had also obtained it. The officer said that he paid our fees. The government had no role in organizing the league. We don't know why it stopped midway?
What did the Sports Minister say?
IHPL had called 32 former foreign players. More fans came to Chris Gayle's match only. While Sri Lanka's Thisara Perera Played in one match. Richard Levi of South Africa and Ayaan Khan of Oman also joined this league.
In this matter, Jammu and Kashmir Sports Minister JK Satish Sharma said on the alleged scam in this league that if the management has done any such scam then we will deal with them strictly and if possible, they will visit the stadium themselves. According to reports, the police has intervened in this matter and registered a case. The players have left the hotel. This also includes England-born Melissa Juniper.
