Claudia Winkleman's festive special of The Piano reportedly won't take place this year following the stabbing attack on a London-bound train last weekend. An LNER train was due to terminate at London King's Cross station on Saturday evening. However, armed officers boarded the train after the 18:25 service was diverted to Huntingdon, following calls by passengers to police of a stabbing attack which had left several people injured. Claudia's Channel 4 show was due to start filming for the Christmas episode this week, but according to The Sun, the special has now been axed. The one-off hour-long episode was filmed last year in St Pancras station in London, and a fourth series is due to air in 2026.
Claudia was reportedly due to be joined by Jon Baptiste and singer Mika, but heightened security concerns at King's Cross station had created issues with access, and it has been decided that the special won't go ahead this year.
Express Online has reached out to Channel 4 for comment.
The 53-year-old presenter - who hosts Channel 4 show The Piano as well as the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, The Traitors and the latter's upcoming celebrity spinoff - is due to be leaving her role on Strictly after the current series wraps up.
Claudia didn't even think The Piano - which sees amateur musicians performing publicly on street pianos in UK train stations - would get a second series.
With a third series launching this year and another due to air in the new year, Claudia insisted she still doesn't know what the future holds for the programme.
She said to The Daily Star: "I have no idea what will happen. We are very obedient. I think it's nice not to grab. Let's see. It might be a couple of years before it happens."
Claudia had previously been asked about her The Piano co-star Mika taking part in Celebrity Traitors - which is based on bluff and deceit - as a Traitor or a Faithful, but she revealed that her friends aren't allowed to participate.
She told The Sun newspaper: "Mika could be either. But I cannot have a friend there, otherwise I would just say [gestures to who would be the Traitor]."
Celebrity Traitors concludes tonight on BBC One and iPlayer.
