Patna . The campaign for assembly elections in Bihar will end today at 6 pm. Voting is to be held here on November 11 for 122 seats in 20 districts. 1302 candidates are in the fray in this second phase of elections. These include 1165 male, 136 female and 1 third gender candidates. In the last 24 hours of the election campaign, the candidates have tried their best to mobilize voters.
In this phase, an average of 815 voters will exercise their franchise at each booth. On Saturday, many big leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Bihar convenor of India Alliance Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, LJP (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan held meetings in favor of the candidates of NDA and India Alliance and appealed to ensure the victory of their respective candidates. In this phase, voting will be held in 122 assembly constituencies of 20 districts on November 11. These include 101 general, 19 scheduled caste and 2 scheduled tribe reserved seats. In the second phase, there are three assembly constituencies with maximum 22 candidates each. These include Chainpur in Kaimur, Sasaram in Rohtas and Gaya city assembly constituency in Gaya Ji, whereas, there are six assembly constituencies with the least number of candidates, where 5-5 candidates are in the fray. These include Lauria, Chanpatia of West Champaran, Raxaul, Sugauli of East Champaran, Triveniganj of Supaul and Banmankhi assembly constituency of Purnia.
3.70 crore voters will vote at 45,399 booths
In the second phase, voting will be held at 45,399 booths set up in 20 districts of Bihar. Of these, 5326 polling stations have been set up in urban areas and 40,073 polling stations have been set up in rural areas. A total of 45,399 booths include 45,388 general booths and 11 auxiliary booths. In this phase, 595 polling stations operated by women, 91 operated by disabled persons and 316 model polling stations have been created. In this phase, web casting will be done at all the booths. 3,70,13,556 voters will exercise their franchise in this election. These include 1,95,44,041 men, 1,74,68,572 women and 943 third gender voters. At the same time, the smallest assembly constituency in terms of number of voters in this phase is Makhdumpur, a total of 2,47,574 voters will cast their votes there. Whereas, the largest assembly constituency is Hisua, where maximum 3,67,667 voters will cast their votes. At the same time, there are more than two lakh voters in all 122 assembly constituencies in this phase.
