Donald Trump is expected to receive an apology from the BBC over the way a speech was edited in an episode of Panorama.

GB News hosts opened up their show to discuss the reports from The Telegraph that a memo on impartiality raised concerns earlier this year following concerns that clips spliced together from sections of his speech on January 6 2021 made it sound like he was going to walk to the US Capitol with his supporters to "fight like hell".

Speaking on the show, hosts Stephen Dixon and Anne Diamond fumed that the BBC's edit has only further added to Trump's fury of "fake news", adding that the golden rule of editing is to not edit something to change the meaning. Anne added: "It's justified everything Trump has ever said about fake news and journalists."

It was also discussed that the latest news pushes the perception that they are "incredibly woke". As broadcaster Pete Price discussed it further, he fumed that the fees are expected to go up. He added: "They're doing themselves no favours. Somebody should be sacked for this."

He added: "Trump is going to have a field day with this."

The documentary, Trump: A Second Chance? was broadcast by the BBC the week before the US election last year. After the release of the internal memo, the Culture, Media and Sport Committee requested information from BBC chairman Samir Shah and asked what actions will be taken.

A spokesperson for the BBC has since said the BBC chairman will be providing a full response on Monday (November 10).

Dame Caroline Dinenage, who signed the letter on behalf of the committee, said: "The BBC clearly has serious questions to answer regarding both its editorial standards and the way in which concerns are handled by senior management.

"The corporation must set the benchmark for accurate and fair reporting, especially in a media landscape where it is all too easy to find news presented in a less than impartial way.

"The committee needs to be reassured that those at the very top of the BBC are treating these issues with the seriousness they deserve and taking decisive steps to uphold the corporation's reputation for integrity and public trust."

Karoline Leavitt, Trump's main spokesperson, told the Telegraph that British taxpayers were "forced to foot the bill for a leftist propaganda machine".

She added: "This purposefully dishonest, selectively edited clip by the BBC is further evidence that they are total, 100 per cent fake news that should no longer be worth the time on the television screens of the great people of the United Kingdom."

Leavitt fumed that when they travel to the UK they're forced to watch the BBC in the hotel rooms and said: "It ruins my day listening to their blatant propaganda and lies about the president of the United States and all that he's doing to make America better and the world a safer place."

A debate on GB News also prompted guest Paul Duddridge to share his insight as he claimed that "heads will roll" after the revelation, "but it won't be Tim Davie's" he added.
