Delhi: Big information has come to light regarding the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. According to reports, the tournament is likely to start from 7 February to 8 March 2026. This time this mega tournament will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

Ahmedabad and Mumbai got big matches

According to the report of Indian Express, this tournament with 20 teams will run for a month. Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the opening match and final match of the tournament. At the same time, Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium will host a semi-final match.

If the semi-final is played between India and Pakistan, then that match will be held in Colombo, while the other semi-final will be played in Mumbai.

Indian team will play in five cities of the country

According to the information, the Indian team will play all its matches in the country only. Team India’s matches will be held in Mumbai, Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai. Apart from this, Bengaluru may get a chance to host some warm-up matches. However, it has not been decided yet whether these matches will be held in the Center of Excellence (CoE) or M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

All matches of Pakistan in Sri Lanka

According to reports, Pakistan team will play all its matches in Sri Lanka. Whereas, if Pakistan reaches the final, then the final match will be held outside India.

Agreement reached between BCCI and ICC

According to sources, it has been decided in the meeting of top BCCI officials that this time the tournament will be played in fewer cities as compared to the 2023 ODI World Cup. Under this, there is a plan to organize at least six matches at each venue.

At the same time, ICC has also made it clear to BCCI that if Sri Lanka reaches the semi-finals, then its match will be held in Colombo only.
