New Delhi: The Rajasthan government has come up with a blueprint to transform the state from a desert economy to an industrial powerhouse with a special focus on renewable energy. Called the Vision Document 2047, the government has set a goal of $4.3 trillion for this project.
As per the vision document, the government has set up both short-term and long term goals, with the broader aim of creating more jobs, empowering small businesses, modernising industries, and making Rajasthan an investment-friendly destination.
The document emphasises that "economic progress must reach people". This means that growth will not be limited to big cities - rural clusters, small towns, and border districts will also become engines of opportunity. Five sectors -- manufacturing, renewable energy, mining, tourism, and services -- have been identified as major drivers of growth. "Rajasthan, once known for its forts and sand dunes, is now scripting a new story of industrial strength and economic ambition. The Viksit Rajasthan @2047 plan lays down an extraordinary roadmap," state chief secretary Sudhansh Pant told ET.
