IPL 2026: Preparations for IPL 2026 have started. All the teams will release their retention list on 15th November. After this there will be a mini auction in December. Meanwhile, a big news is coming from Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings. If reports are to be believed, RR can trade its captain Sanju Samson with Chennai Super Kings. In place of Sanju, CSK’s Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran can become a part of Rajasthan.
Sanju-Jadeja will be swapped
Both teams have talked to all three players involved in this trade. No official statement has come yet. But it is being told that Rajasthan Royals is ready to hand over Sanju Samson to Chennai Super Kings in exchange for Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran. Samson and Jadeja have been associated with their respective teams for a long time.
Samson has played for Rajasthan Royals for 11 seasons. Whereas, Jadeja has been playing for Chennai Super Kings since 2012. Samson had also indicated after IPL 2025 that he is looking for a change and wants to be released from the Rajasthan Royals team.

Before the auction, all the teams have to release the retention list of their players. Which contains the names of all the retained players. According to preliminary information this year, all the teams will have to release their retention list by 15th November. There will be a mini auction after a month.
At the same time, there is no information about the place of auction till now. The IPL 2023 auction was held in Dubai and 2024 in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). Therefore, it is believed that this time also it may happen outside the country.
