On Tuesday, Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government for what he termed a "failure of intelligence" in preventing a blast near the historic Red Fort in Delhi. The explosion resulted in the deaths of at least eight individuals. Yadav raised concerns about how such an incident could occur in the national capital, particularly in an area where the Prime Minister delivers his annual speech on Independence Day.

During a press conference, the SP chief sarcastically questioned the government's transparency, expressing confidence that the Prime Minister would reveal who was responsible for this significant incident in a symbolic location. He emphasized the repeated failures of intelligence agencies in ensuring safety. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also expressed her condolences regarding the recent explosion near the Red Fort, labeling the event as unfortunate and assuring that all relevant agencies were actively managing the situation.

Gupta mentioned her intention to visit the injured in the hospital and reiterated the government's commitment to support the victims' families to alleviate any hardships they may face. In response to the blast, the Delhi Police have registered a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Explosive Substances Act, and various sections of the Indian Penal Code. The police stated, "A case has been registered at the Kotwali police station under sections 16 and 18 of the UAPA, along with various sections of the Explosive Substances Act and IPC."

Additionally, Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level security review meeting at his residence on Monday evening to assess the situation following the deadly blast. The explosion claimed eight lives and left several others injured. Sources from the Delhi Police indicated that they are focusing on the activities of a suspect, a network linked to a university in Faridabad, and the nature of the explosives used in the incident.
