Indian spinner and star player from Shah Rukh Khans KKR Varun Chakravarthy has been named captain of Tamil Nadu for this seasons Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy which will begin across the country from November 26. Chakravarthy has been in good form recently playing an important role in Indias 2-1 T20 International series win over Australia where he took five wickets in the three completed matches. Narayan Jagadeesan the Indian batter will serve as Chakravarthy’s deputy and also take charge as the wicketkeeper for the team. The squad also includes experienced left-arm spinner R Sai Kishore and young talent Andre Siddarth. India’s left-arm fast bowler T Natarajan has also been selected to strengthen the team’s bowling attack. Tamil Nadu who have had an average performance in this season’s Ranji Trophy have been placed in Elite Group D. Their group also includes Rajasthan Delhi Uttarakhand Karnataka Tripura Jharkhand and Saurashtra. Tamil Nadu will start their campaign with a match against Rajasthan in Ahmedabad.
