Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that leftist historians wrote history as per their convenience, in which the bravery and sacrifice of leaders of Dalit and backward communities was ignored. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh was addressing the program organized in the capital on Sunday on the martyrdom day of martyr Veerangana Uda Devi. During this time his statue was also unveiled.

Rajnath Singh said that innumerable heroes of Dalits, tribals, women and backward communities did not get their due place in the pages of history. These heroes should not only be taught but they should be worshipped. It is very sad that historians did not write any books on the Pasi Empire. Scholars never researched the history of this brave community. Earlier governments never tried to collect information about the Pasi Empire.

He said that even the previous governments did not give proper place to the heroes of Pasi and Dalit society. Rajnath Singh said that who can forget the contribution of Madari Pasi in the Eka movement. Madari Pasi ji sounded the trumpet of rebellion against injustice. When very high taxes were imposed on the farmers, Madari Pasi ji emerged as the ‘Messiah of the farmers’. I also pay my tribute to Madari Pasi ji. Communities like the Pasi community, who strengthened the freedom movement with their bravery, sacrifice and struggle, were not given their due place in history, even though they were equally partners and heroes of this great journey.

As a result, the struggle and sacrifice of those marginalized communities who made invaluable contributions to India’s independence were ignored. He said that the history of India’s freedom struggle was presented as if the freedom struggle was fought by only one party and some particular classes or communities. This created an illusion in the minds of people that the freedom struggle was led by a select few.

The Defense Minister said that he can say without hesitation that every daughter of India can become Uda Devi to protect the pride of India. He said that during the recent Operation Sindoor, women pilots and women soldiers have played an important role in counter-terrorism operations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Rajnath said that Uda Devi ji not only defeated the British army with her unmatched bravery and indomitable courage but has also set such a standard of patriotism which will continue to inspire every citizen of India till eternity. Uda Devi had told that whenever someone will raise his eyes towards India, every daughter of India will also fight him boldly.

He said that when Uda Devi was martyred while fighting a British battalion, even the British officers bowed in respect to her after seeing her dead body. Heroine Uda Devi has made not only the Pasi community proud but the entire country. Every Indian is extremely proud of him. He said that the story of Uda Devi ji teaches us self-respect. In the history of the revolution of 1857, Uda Devi Pasi not only challenged the British rule but also challenged the social system which marginalized her society for centuries.

The Defense Minister said that Uda Devi ji proved that patriotism and bravery are not limited by any caste or class. In the battle of Lucknow he showed that the flame of freedom can ignite in every heart. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that the story of Uda Devi has illuminated the role of women in the freedom struggle. They remind us that if women could use guns, fight in wars, and kill British soldiers.

Rajnath Singh said that Uda Devi will be remembered not only for her bravery but also as a leader who organized women from the Dalit community to take up arms against the British rule. His sacrifice teaches us that true courage is the one who can stand firm against injustice, discrimination and slavery. Uda Devi’s life is an example of the unmatched value of women empowerment and equality. The women power of India has never lagged behind anyone to protect the country and its religion. Today the doors of Sainik Schools are open for girls. Indian women are further strengthening the security network of the country, from the heights of Siachen to the depths of the sea.
