After Pakistan A captain Irfan Khan opted to bowl, the in-form Vaibhav Suryavanshi fresh off a record-breaking hundred against the UAE began aggressively once again. In the third over, Ubaid Shah delivered a ball that Suryavanshi mistimed, sending it looping towards cover after a bounce. The Pakistan pacer had a few words, prompting the 14-year-old prodigy to snap back sharply.
“Ball dalna, ja ball daal (Just bowl, go and bowl),” Vaibhav replied, the exchange picked up on the stump mic.
On the very next delivery, Suryavanshi unleashed a glorious lofted shot over cover, holding the pose as the ball raced to the boundary. The strike left Ubaid visibly unsettled.
Vaibhav eventually made a brisk 45 off 28 balls, hammering five fours and three sixes. Naman Dhir chipped in with 35 off 20, but India A struggled to capitalize further as Pakistan’s spinners Saad Masood, Sufiyan Muqeem, and Maaz Sadaqat — choked the scoring in the middle overs, sharing five wickets.
Pacer Shahid Aziz also impressed with figures of 3/24, helping bundle India A out for just 136 in 19 overs. With some turn on offer, Jitesh Sharma’s side will need a disciplined bowling effort to defend their modest total of 137.
