Big decision: Death sentence to Sheikh Hasina in war crimes case, orders to shoot protesters on sight in Dhaka

Former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina and former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal have been sentenced to death. He has been convicted of crimes against humanity by the International Crimes Tribunal in Dhaka. The tribunal has called him the mastermind of the killings during the 2024 student movement.
Violence continues across the country regarding Hasina’s decision. The government has announced high alert. 15,000 policemen have been deployed in Dhaka. They have been ordered to open fire on violent protesters.
Two buses were set on fire in Dhaka from late Saturday night to Sunday morning. In view of the possibility of further increase in violence after the decision, security arrangements have been tightened across the country.
