Fear of uproar in Bangladesh: Big decision against Sheikh Hasina soon. ,

The hearing of the case of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is going on in the International Crimes Tribunal of Bangladesh. Earlier news agency Reuters had reported that Hasina has been convicted, although the final verdict has not come yet. Hasina faces 5 charges of crimes against humanity and war crimes.

Among these, murder, failure to stop crime and crimes against humanity are the most important. According to media reports, Sheikh Hasina may be sentenced to death. The court’s decision is being telecasted live.

Violence continues across the country regarding Hasina’s decision. The government has announced high alert. 15,000 policemen have been deployed in Dhaka. They have been ordered to open fire on violent protesters.

Two buses were set on fire in Dhaka from late Saturday night to Sunday morning. In view of the possibility of further increase in violence after the decision, security arrangements have been tightened across the country.

Former Bangladeshi IGP apologized to the court

Former Bangladesh IGP Mamun has apologized to the court. He said that I fully supported the court. Mamun admitted that he was involved in the violence. He told that 4 people conspired together. They all used to hold meetings daily at the PM’s residence.

Mamun said that he had not committed any crime in his 36 years of service. This incident has tarnished his image. After listening to their argument, the judge said that we will give less punishment. What punishment they will receive will be decided later.

Sheikh Hasina’s son said – my mother is safe in India

According to Al Jazeera, Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wajed had told journalists a few days ago that he already knew that his mother would be given the death penalty. He said that Hasina is safe in India and Indian security agencies will fully protect her.

Wajed said that Sheikh Hasina has been the Prime Minister 5 times and she has many supporters in the country. His party Awami League is one of the two largest parties in Bangladesh. Therefore they will not take this decision lightly.

Where are the three accused?

Apart from Sheikh Hasina, the other two accused in the case are former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan and former IGP Chaudhry Abdullah al-Mamun. Of the three accused, Sheikh Hasina and Asaduzzaman are absconding. Both are now living in India. At the same time, the third accused Chaudhary Abdullah Al-Mamun has become a government witness.

5 charges against Sheikh Hasina and her associates

  • Allegation number 1- The accused are accused of murder, attempt to murder and torture. The chargesheet states that Hasina instigated the police and armed men associated with the Awami League to attack civilians. Promoted it and failed to stop the violence.
  • Charge number 2- Hasina ordered the use of lethal weapons, helicopters and drones to suppress student protesters.
  • Charge number 3- Begum is linked to the murder of Rokeya University student Abu Syed on 16 July. The indictment states that Hasina and others ordered the murder, conspired for it and participated in the crime.
  • Charge number 4- On 5 August, six unarmed protesters were killed in Chankharpul, Dhaka. It has also been said that this murder took place due to Hasina’s direct orders, instigation, help and conspiracy.
  • Charge number 5- This allegation involves shooting and killing 5 protesters and injuring one. It is alleged that the bodies of those five killed were burnt, and one protester was burnt alive.

Lathicharge on protesters who came to demolish Hasina’s father’s house

Today the Army and Police lathi-charged the protesters gathered near Dhanmondi 32. The protesters had gathered to demolish the remaining parts of the house of Hasina’s father Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. At least two sound grenades were also thrown to disperse the crowd.

According to the report, the protesters tried to break the barricade and enter, after which the police and army took action. During this time, many protesters and policemen were injured in lathicharge and throwing of bricks and stones. The protesters had brought two JCBs so that the remaining part of the house could be demolished. The police put barricades outside the house and did not allow anyone to go inside.
