Pakistan's star batsman Babar Azam recently ended his long-running century drought in international cricket. He played a century in the second match of the ODI series played against Sri Lanka. But he could not do much in the last match of the series. During this match, he did something on which the International Cricket Council has taken major action and sentenced him.

ICC's big action against Babar Azam

The International Cricket Council has fined Babar Azam for violating the code of conduct. This incident happened recently during the ODI series played against Sri Lanka, where Pakistan performed brilliantly and captured the entire series. Babar Azam was found guilty of misuse of cricket equipment after his dismissal in the third ODI. After being out in the 21st over, he left the field and hit the stumps with his bat, which was considered a violation under Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct.

Match referee Ali Naqvi fined Babar 10 percent of his match fee for this violation and added one demerit point to his disciplinary record. This is his first such crime in the last 24 months. Babar accepted the charge and accepted the punishment, thereby settling the case without any further controversy. Let us tell you, the minimum punishment for a Level 1 violation is an official reprimand, the maximum punishment is 50 percent of the player's match fee and one or two demerit points.

Babar Azam was the most successful batsman in the 3-match ODI series played between the two teams. He scored 165 runs in 3 innings at an average of 82.50. Which also included an unbeaten inning of 102 runs. He scored these runs at an average of 82.50.
