E-Passport System: The passport system in India is undergoing a change. Now, e-passports will be implemented across the country. Many people are wondering if old passports will be discontinued.

Many documents are essential for people living in India. Without these documents, many things can be stalled. If someone wants to travel abroad, they need a passport. Without a passport, you cannot travel abroad.

No country in the world allows you entry without a passport. Now, a major change has begun regarding passports in the country. The government is implementing the e-passport system across the country. Its aim is to make passports more secure and speed up airport checking.

The new system's specialty is that a small chip will be embedded in the passport, which will store important information related to your identity. Every new passport in the country will now come with a microchip. It will look like a normal passport with a single page. But there will be an electronic chip embedded inside the cover.

Your photo, name, date of birth, signature, and biometric information will be secure in it. It is virtually impossible to alter or tamper with. This new technology will help prevent identity theft and passport fraud.

These chip-based passports are already in use in many countries around the world. Now, India is moving towards the same system. Its most significant feature is that the machine at the airport reads your information within a second. This significantly speeds up the boarding process.

Now, people are asking whether old passports will become invalid. The government has clarified that old passports will continue to be valid as usual. There is no risk of them becoming invalid. You will receive a new passport only when you go to get a new one or renew your old one.

E-passports were initially issued in a few cities, but now they are being implemented nationwide. In the future, only e-passports will be issued at every Passport Seva Kendra. With this, the passport system will become uniform and more advanced across the country.
