Meanwhile, in a conversation or context, he compared the divine power shown in the film ‘Kantara’ to a ‘female ghost’ or ‘witch’. Not only this, some reports claim that he also took the name of ‘Maa Chamunda’ in this context. Just brother, this is what stung the fans. Fans said – “Ranveer, know first and then speak.” As soon as this news came out, people started ‘classing’ Ranveer Singh on the internet. People say that what Ranveer considers as ‘ghost’ in ‘Kanthara’, are actually local deities (Daiva) like ‘Panjurli’ and ‘Guliga’, who are worshiped by the people of Tulunadu. One user wrote on social media, “This is the problem of Bollywood people, they do not understand their culture and consider everything as ‘ghost’ like in horror films.” Another user said angrily, “This ignorance. No, it is ego. There is a difference between a god and a ghost, Ranveer Bhai! Difficulty for ‘Dhurandhar’? The film ‘Dhurandhar’ being made under the direction of Aditya Dhar is very important for Ranveer Singh’s career. But the hero coming into controversies even before the release of the film can become a headache for the makers. Especially in South India, where people are very sentimental about their culture, Ranveer’s image could be harmed. This is not the first time that a Bollywood star has inadvertently hurt religious sentiments. Everyone got goosebumps after watching the climax of ‘Kantara’, considering it just a ‘ghost film’ or a character shows that Ranveer probably did not understand the depth of the film.
