The casting of Netflix’s One Piece live-action series has always kept fans on their toes, which is why social media erupted recently when an AI-generated image of Bollywood star Shraddha Kapoor as Boa Hancock went viral. The picture circulated rapidly across platforms, leading many to believe that the actress had officially joined the Season 2 cast.
However, the speculation was quickly dismissed. Neither Netflix nor series creator Eiichiro Oda confirmed any such casting, making it clear that the viral Shraddha Kapoor–as–Hancock image was nothing more than an AI prank. One Piece fans, who have been eagerly waiting to hear about new characters joining the live-action adaptation, briefly fell for the buzz before it was clarified as false.
Meanwhile, Netflix has already confirmed the official cast list for One Piece Season 2which is set to release on March 10, 2026. Many major characters from the Arabasta saga and Drum Island arc have been announced, and they include some big names across Hollywood and global television.
The confirmed cast features Rigo Sanchez as Monkey D. Dragon, Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday (Vivi), and Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefertari Cobra. Katey Sagal joins as Dr. Kureha, while Mark Harelik takes on the role of Dr. Hiriluk. Camrus Johnson will play Mr. 5, with Jazzara Jaslyn cast as Miss Valentine. David Dastmalchian steps in as Mr. 3, and Werner Coester and Brendan Murray will portray the Giant Warriors Dory and Brogy.
Clive Russell has been cast as Crocus, while Callum Kerr will play Smoker and Julia Rehwald will appear as Tashigi. The highly anticipated role of Crocodile will be portrayed by Joe Manganiello, and Lera Abova joins the series as Nico Robin.
Recent announcements also confirmed Xolo Maridueña as Portgas D. Ace, Mikaela Hoover as the voice of Tony Tony Chopper, and Cole Escola as Bon Clay, rounding out the core additions for Season 2.
With such a star-studded lineup officially revealed, Shraddha Kapoor’s viral “casting” stands confirmed as fan-made fiction. For now, fans can look forward to an exciting and expansive second season — with characters that have been officially approved by Netflix and Oda.
