Chyawanprash Recipe: Winter season is going on, it becomes important to take care of health in this season. In this season, infection diseases and cases of cold and cough are troublesome. Chyawanprash is helpful in providing warmth, energy and immunity to the body in winter. It is like Ayurvedic medicine which is good to consume. Although Chyawanprash is easily available in the market, we do not know how pure it is.
Chyawanprash available in the market often contains preservatives and added sugar. Instead of providing benefits to health, it causes harm. Today we are telling you about making Chyawanprash recipe at home which is beneficial.
What are the main ingredients needed?
1 kg amla
500-600 grams jaggery (as per taste)
4-5 tbsp desi ghee
4-5 tbsp honey
1 small piece cinnamon
5-6 long
10-12 black peppers
5-6 cardamoms
1 teaspoon pippali powder
1 teaspoon ashwagandha powder
1 teaspoon asparagus powder
1 teaspoon dried ginger powder (saunth)
2 spoon chironji
2 teaspoon raisins
Know how to make Chyawanprash at home
- Wash the gooseberries and boil them in a pressure cooker for 2 whistles. When the gooseberries become soft, remove their seeds and separate the pulp.
- Put boiled gooseberry in the mixer and make a paste. If the paste is a little thick then it tastes better.
- Lightly roast cinnamon, cardamom, clove, black pepper and chironji and grind them finely. Now add Ashwagandha, Shatavari, Pippali and dry ginger powder to it.
- Heat ghee in a heavy bottom pan and add amla paste to it and cook. Cook it on medium flame until its water dries completely and the paste becomes thick.
- After the pulp is cooked, add grated jaggery to it and cook on low flame while stirring. As the jaggery melts, the mixture will start thickening.
- Now add prepared spice powder, raisins and chironji to it and mix well.
- Only when the mixture cools down completely, add honey to it and your pure, fresh and nutritious homemade Chyawanprash is ready.
How to consume it
If you want to consume Chyawanprash, then you should eat 1 teaspoon every morning on an empty stomach. Apart from adults, it is very beneficial for the health of children. Half a teaspoon will be enough for children. It is considered more beneficial if taken with lukewarm water.
