In today’s modern era, most of the people are using mobile phones but now all the telecom companies of the country are preparing to make their recharge plans expensive soon. According to a report, India’s leading telecom operators Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea (Vi) may announce tariff increase again by the end of this year. So the share of mobile phone users will be affected.
According to the report, according to the analysis of global brokerage firm Bernstein, Indian telecom companies can increase tariffs by 10 to 20 percent by December 2025. This could be the fourth major tariff increase in the last six years. Earlier, in July 2024, the companies had increased the tariff by up to 25%. It is being said that this increase can be done during November-December 2025. According to the report, this tariff increase can prove to be a major catalyst in improving the income of the telecom industry.
Bernstein estimates that Airtel and Jio’s revenue growth will be at a medium to high pace between 2025 and 2027. The main reasons for this are the steady growth in the number of new customers and strength in ARPU (average revenue per customer). Companies are not only working on adding new customers, but are also working on strategies to generate more revenue from existing customers. Companies want to target a stable 10% CAGR (annual growth rate) rather than aggressive growth like in 2019-2025.
