The Royal Family may only have a small number of working royals at its core, but there are plenty of lesser-known figures in the wider family who have a fairly ordinary life away from the public spotlight. One is Alexander Charles Ogilvy, who could soon be in the public spotlight more than ever before as he follows in Prince William's footsteps.
Although only 29, Alexander - who was once dubbed as one of the most attractive royal - has now graduated from the Royal Military Academy of Sandhurst, like William once did. This means Alexander, who has been commissioned into the Blues and Royals, could ride in Trooping the Colour next year. This is likely to be exciting for Alexander, who is the grandson of Princess Alexandra - cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth II - and the son of James and Julia Ogilvy.
The Daily Mail's diary editor Richard Eden also reported that Alexander has signed up to the prestigious Household Cavalry.
If he does in fact make an appearance at Trooping the Colour next summer, he is likely to receive a lot of attention from royal fans, some of whom have described him as "handsome" and a "pretty boy".
