Paul Heyman, the infamous ‘advocate’ for WWE superstar Brock Lesnar, became the center of online controversy on Saturday night, not just for his role in Survivor Series: WarGames, but for a viral moment captured after the show when he shoved a fan who approached him in the crowd.

A circulating video shows Heyman walking backstage through a dense crowd, accompanied by Logan Paul and Bronson Reed, with police officers and security attempting to clear a path for the group.

As they moved toward the post-show area, a young fan emerged unexpectedly and placed his hands on Heyman’s chest and suit. Heyman immediately reacted by pushing the fan away. Security quickly stepped in to restrain the surrounding crowd as Heyman continued walking.

It remains unclear whether Heyman realized the fan was a minor, as the interaction happened quickly and in a chaotic environment.

Heyman featured prominently in the main event

Earlier in the night, Heyman had been a prominent ringside figure, representing a powerhouse team in the WarGames main event. His group, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre, and Brock Lesnar, faced World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, The Usos, and Roman Reigns.

Although the opposing team of champions appeared close to securing victory after a series of high-impact moves on Lesnar, Logan Paul intervened with a key save. The match ultimately ended when Breakker delivered a spear on CM Punk for the pinfall.

Logan Paul’s win

Logan Paul was part of the winning team, aided earlier in the match when Heyman discreetly handed him brass knuckles, an assist that helped turn the tide. Heyman later celebrated with the victorious team backstage.

The viral fan incident is now circulating widely on social media, which has been critical of Heyman’s action.

Fans' reaction of Paul Heyman shoving a kid away

Reaction online (on X) was sharply divided after footage showed Paul Heyman shoving the young fan. Many users criticized the moment, arguing that Heyman went too far by pushing a child. One viewer wrote that “paying tickets for that garbage” reflects how WWE has declined, while another pointed out the irony of the incident happening a week after the anniversary of the infamous Mass Transit incident. Some said the child’s experience was unacceptable for a paid event, calling the moment “insane” and “unprofessional.”

But a large portion of the wrestling community defended Heyman, saying he was simply acting in character as a heel. Fans noted that performers often stay in kayfabe and may react defensively when approached unexpectedly in a crowd. Others argued that the kid likely enjoyed the moment, calling it “on brand” and something he might look back on fondly as a unique memory. Several also pointed out safety concerns, saying Heyman couldn’t know the fan’s intent in a chaotic environment.
