Priyanka Gandhi hits back at PM Modi: PM Narendra Modi on Monday said he is ready to give tips to parties that are “frustrated” and doing “drama”. Responding to this, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi said, “Important issues like pollution and SIR should be discussed. Raising issues is not drama. The drama is not to allow the elected representatives to speak on matters to the people. Why are we not being allowed to discuss them?”

Priyanka Gandhi, Congress MP from Wayanad seat, said, “I think this is a very shameful situation. This is the capital of our country. We should put aside our political differences and take some strong steps. How can we do this to our children? According to a study, today there are 22 lakh children whose lungs have been permanently damaged. Old people, people with asthma and other respiratory problems are suffering. Hospitals are full of people with respiratory problems. We Can’t you sit and do nothing?… If the government does this then we are here to support it. The central government and the state government should take immediate action.”

In fact, while talking to the media at the beginning of the winter session of Parliament, PM Narendra Modi said, “There are many places for drama and slogans. You have done it in places where you have lost and you will do it again where you are going to lose. Negativity can sometimes help in politics, but I expect them to focus on building the country.” He said, “The game that the opposition has been playing for the last 10 years is no longer acceptable to the people. They should change their strategy – I am ready to give them some tips.”

He said, “This winter session is also special because our new Chairman will preside over the Upper House. The GST reforms have benefited the people, and we will take these reforms further during this session. For the last few sessions, the House has been used for election purposes or to express disappointment over defeat. I have seen that leaders in power in some states are not even visiting those states due to public anger and anti-incumbency.” Such parties should think about themselves.
