Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: A 19-year-old woman from Rae Bareli, living in a live-in relationship in Lucknow, died under suspicious circumstances on Saturday night. The young woman, Afsari Bano, had been residing with her partner in a rented room in Gomti Nagar’s Vibhuti Khand area for the past two months.
Her brother, Raees, has accused her live-in partner of murdering her. The man has been missing since the incident, and his mobile phone has remained switched off.
What happened?
According to Raees, his sister left home around two months ago with a young man from Rae Bareli. The two had taken a room on rent in Lucknow and were in regular phone contact with family members.
On Saturday, the man reportedly called Afsari’s family and informed them that she had died by suicide. He claimed she had hanged herself, and that he had taken her to Lohia Hospital. However, he allegedly fled immediately afterward, leaving the body behind.
When the family reached the hospital, Afsari had already passed away. Because she had no identification documents on her, the Vibhuti Khand police treated the case as an unidentified body and sent it for postmortem.
