Khaleda Zia Health Condition: Former Prime Minister of Bangladesh and the country’s main opposition leader Khaleda Zia is suffering from a serious health crisis these days. On 23 November, he was admitted to a private hospital in Dhaka after complaining of chest infection.

After admission, his condition continued to deteriorate, following which he was shifted to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU). Now his condition has become more critical, due to which doctors have put him on ventilator.

Round of prayers continues across the country

BNP vice-president Advocate Ahmed Azam Khan told reporters outside the hospital that Khaleda Zia’s condition was “extremely bad” and nothing could be done at this time except prayers to the entire country. He said that the medical team is continuously monitoring his condition, but the situation remains worrying.

BNP General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir also confirmed Zia’s critical condition. He said that along with local doctors, international medical experts are also continuously engaged in his treatment. Alamgir said that Khaleda Zia is very ill and the whole country is praying for the improvement of her health. The team of doctors is trying their best to stabilize his condition.

Former PM suffering from serious health problems

Senior joint general secretary of the party, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi also said that there has been no significant improvement in the condition of 80-year-old Zia. There is deep concern among the party and its supporters regarding his health.

Khaleda Zia has been suffering from many serious health problems for the last several years. He has liver and kidney diseases as well as diabetes, arthritis, eye diseases and other complex health problems. This year, she went to London for treatment and returned to Dhaka on May 6 after recovery.

Concern increased throughout the country

His elder son and acting president of BNP, Tariq Rehman, has been living in London since 2008. His second son, Arafat Rahman, died of a heart attack in 2025. Amidst these personal sorrows and a long political struggle, Jiya’s health became increasingly weak.

The current condition of Khaleda Zia, who holds an important position in the politics of Bangladesh, has raised concerns in the entire country. His declining health has also affected political movements and opposition activities. The team of doctors is hoping that with intensive treatment there will be a possibility of improvement in his condition.
