News India Live, Digital Desk: Has it ever happened to you that guests are sitting in the house, tea is boiling in the kitchen or the cooker is about to start whistling and suddenly the gas runs out? The irritation and tension that occurs at that time can only be understood by the women of the house or the person who cooks. For those who have a single cylinder connection, this problem becomes even bigger. Book a new cylinder, then wait for delivery. Many times the food remains half cooked or has to be ordered from outside. But now you do not need to worry at all. If you too are living on a single cylinder, then the time has come to make your kitchen ‘smart’. You can easily get your second i.e. ‘Spare Cylinder’. What is Double Bottle Connection (DBC)? In official language it is called DBC i.e. ‘Double Bottle Connection’. This means you will have one regulator but two cylinders. As soon as one was finished, I immediately installed another one and conveniently booked the finished one for refill. There is no rush in booking and no fear of food stoppage. The process of getting a second cylinder is very easy. People think that they have to roll a lot of papads to get a second cylinder, whereas this is not the case at all. Its method is very simple: Go to the agency: First of all go to your gas agency (be it HP, Indane or Bharat Gas). Carry your original Gas Passbook (Subscription Voucher – SV) and Aadhar Card with you. Small form: There you will be told that you want to convert your single connection into double connection. You may have to fill a small form for this. Security Deposit: Remember, to get the second cylinder, you will have to deposit its ‘security amount’. This may vary depending on the weight of the cylinder (14.2 kg or 5 kg). Generally, this amount ranges between Rs 1450 to Rs 2000 (depending on the state and time) for a 14.2 kg cylinder. Cylinder received: As soon as the formalities are completed, you will get another empty cylinder (or filled, as you pay) immediately. You can apply even sitting at home. Nowadays, technology has advanced so much that you do not even need to face the pressure of the agency. You can also go to your gas company’s mobile app or website and place a request for ‘DBC’ i.e. second cylinder. Make the payment online and the delivery boy will drop the cylinder to your home. Our Friendly Advice: Friends, it is not wise to depend on one cylinder just to save a little money. There is a one-time expenditure of Rs 1500-2000, but it provides peace of life. Especially during the festival and wedding season, the second cylinder is no less than a boon. So what are you waiting for? Bring home your ‘Spare Cylinder’ today and enjoy tension free cooking!
