Loose Women host Kaye Adams has revealed that she had to rush her partner to A&E with chest pains. The ITV presenter, 62, unveiled that her Christmas plans are on pause after her partner Ian Campbell was rushed to hospital and the pair were forced to spend most of the night there. Moreover, Kaye herself later contracted a virus. The Scottish TV star spoke on her How To Be 60 podcast, and said: "This weekend I was going to get the tree and sort of try and get organised this weekend, but it was completely scuppered.
"We spent a night in A&E. Ian said he had chest pains, and Ian is not a drama queen, and he is stupidly stoic. And he came in, and he looked a bit grey, and he said he had a pain in his chest, and it was about 8pm, and I have my blood pressure unit that I'd bought him, and we used that.
"But you know when you just look at someone and think 'something's not right here,' so I looked at him and I said 'should we go to A&E?' and he just nodded and I thought 'oh dear' because usually he would normally resist that."
She added: "So we got there about half past eight, he got an ECG quite quickly, which was fine. And then he got another blood test to test some kind of protein in the heart, which was fine - and then he had other blood tests that were taken that we needed to see a doctor to see."
Kaye then said that they left before they actually saw a doctor, as it would have taken another few hours of waiting, and Ian's pain had "eased a bit."
She said: "He went to see the GP the next day, who was able to access the blood results, and everything was fine, but from that point on, I have been as sick as a dog."
Kaye opened up about her health woes and said that she likely came down with the flu, adding that she was aching and shivering all over and "feeling like death".
She also said that her Christmas has been "postponed" after the recent events, saying: "So all my Christmas plans went completely out the bl**dy window, so it's been postponed unfortunately. Ian is definitely getting a full check-up for Christmas - that's his Christmas present."
Loose Women airs on ITV on weekdays.
