Overeating Remedies: Weddings are the season, and people often find themselves unable to resist the sight of delicious food and end up eating more than they should. This process of overeating is called overeating. Eating excessively spicy, oily, and sweet foods together has a detrimental effect on our digestive system, resulting in bloating, indigestion, acidity, dyspepsia, and constipation.
This problem is further exacerbated when we lie down immediately after eating. Overeating increases the production of gas and acid in the stomach, causing discomfort. If your digestive situation is similar, don't panic. You can restore your digestive system by adopting some simple and natural remedies. These remedies will not only keep your stomach calm and healthy, but will also help eliminate accumulated toxins from your body.
Consuming celery, cumin, and asafoetida
To relieve gas and bloating after overeating, use three indigenous spices from your kitchen: celery, cumin, and asafoetida. Chew half a teaspoon of roasted cumin seeds after eating. You can also drink warm water mixed with a little celery and a pinch of asafoetida. These spices activate digestive enzymes and help expel gas from the stomach faster.
Lukewarm Water and Lemon Water
Avoid drinking cold water after overeating. Instead, drink lukewarm water slowly, taking care not to drink too much water immediately after eating. Lukewarm water facilitates digestion. To relieve indigestion, drink lemon juice mixed with lukewarm water an hour after eating. The citric acid and vitamin C in lemon aid digestion.
Take a light walk after eating.
Sleeping or sitting immediately after a heavy meal slows digestion and increases acid reflux. To avoid this, take a light walk 15 to 20 minutes after eating. This stimulates intestinal motility, helps move food forward, and reduces the risk of acidity.
Eat probiotics and light fruits.
To quickly restore your digestive system, consume probiotics (such as plain yogurt or buttermilk) and light fruits (such as bananas or papayas) at your next meal. Yogurt helps maintain the balance of good gut bacteria, while the enzyme papain in papaya and the fiber in bananas aid digestion.
