IND vs SA 2nd ODI : The second match of the three-match ODI series between India and South Africa is being played at the Shaheed Vir Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur. Losing the toss, India set a target of 359 against South Africa on the back of centuries from Rituraj Gaikwad and Virat Kohli. Even with a big score, India is in the shadow of defeat. Because, South African opener Aiden Markram has scored a brilliant century.
Chasing India’s target of 359, South Africa did not get off to a good start. Quinton de Kock is out for 26 runs. Then captain Temba Bavuma entered the field. He and Markram put on a partnership of 101 runs. Temba Bavuma was dismissed for 46 runs. Markram then completed his century. He was dismissed after completing satak. He scored 110 off 98 balls. In this he hit 10 fours and 4 sixes.
South Africa won the toss and invited India to bat first. The Indian team batted brilliantly and scored 358 runs. Although the Indian innings did not start well, India made great strides on the strength of centuries by Virat Kohli and Rituraj Gaikwad. India got their first blow in form of Rohit Sharma on 40 runs. He was sent back by Nandre Berger for 14 runs. Then Virat Kohli came to the field at the third position.
After Rohit, Yashasvi Jaiswal was also dismissed quickly. He was dismissed by Marco Jansen for 22 runs. Rituraj Gaikwad, who came in at number four, and Virat Kohli recovered the innings and the two put on a huge partnership of 195 runs. Both of them scored brilliant centuries. Rituraj scored 105 runs off 83 balls. In this he hit 12 fours and 2 sixes. After Rituraj, Virat Kohli also scored a century. Virat was dismissed after completing his century. He scored 102 off 93 balls. He hit 7 fours and 2 sixes in this innings. Also, KL Rahul also scored an unbeaten knock of 66 runs. Jadeja also remained unbeaten on 24 runs. Marco Jansen took the most wickets from South Africa with 2 wickets. While Nandre Berger and Ngidi took 1 wicket each.
