New Delhi: Indias income landscape is rapidly changing. A post by RPG Group Chairman Harsh Goenka has sparked a heated discussion on social media about which states earn the most and where peoples incomes remain low. Sharing state-wise average monthly salary data he said that India will only become prosperous when the income of every Indian increases especially those at the bottom. Who earns the most? According to the latest data from Forbes Advisor India shared by Harsh Goenka Indias average monthly income is projected to reach Rs 28000 by 2025. However when it comes to states the countrys capital Delhi tops the list with an average monthly salary of Rs 35000. Karnataka is second with an average salary of Rs 33000 per month. Bengalurus IT sector startup hub and abundance of tech companies have created better employment opportunities and higher salaries. Maharashtra follows with Rs 32000 and Telangana with Rs 31000. Business activity in Mumbai and Pune and the IT boom in Hyderabad are pushing up the average income in these states. Bihars situation is awful Bihar has the lowest average monthly income in India at just Rs 13500 per month. It is followed by the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar with Rs 13000. Nagaland has Rs 14000 and Mizoram also has low average monthly incomes. Limited employment small industries and low investment in these areas result in significantly lower average incomes compared to other states. South India strongest South India has traditionally been considered ahead in both employment and income. Beyond Karnataka the average monthly salary is Rs 29000 in Tamil Nadu Rs 26000 in Andhra Pradesh and Rs 24500 in Kerala. These figures show that South India continues to be strong in terms of opportunities and salaries.
