Chandigarh's pizza aficionados have a reason to rejoice as PizzaExpress, a beloved UK pizzeria, has inaugurated its first outlet in the city at Nexus Elante Mall.

Renowned worldwide for its artisanal pizzas, open kitchens, and inviting modern dining environments, PizzaExpress is making its debut in Tricity with a commitment to quality food. This launch follows the warm reception the brand received in Mohali (CP67 Mall) and Ludhiana. In Chandigarh, PizzaExpress aims to replicate the flavors that have garnered it a loyal following in 13 countries.

Central to PizzaExpress's culinary philosophy is the emphasis on simplicity, freshness, and handcrafted quality. Jerry Thomas, the culinary head, refers to the dough as the “hero” of their kitchen. Each pizza starts with slow-proofed dough, expertly stretched by skilled pizzaiolos right in front of the diners. This meticulous approach also applies to their tomato passata, crafted from San Marzano tomatoes that are crushed shortly after harvesting, ensuring a clean and distinctive flavor that defines PizzaExpress.

The menu in Chandigarh features a delightful blend of classic favorites alongside dishes tailored for Indian tastes. Diners can choose from three signature bases: Classic, the comforting original; Romana, known for its thin and crispy texture; and Naples, the newest addition that is soft, airy, and indulgent.

Popular global selections like the Romana Queen Margherita, American Hot, Lava, and Calabrese are complemented by local specialties. The menu also caters to Punjab's fondness for chicken, offering four varieties of wings — crispy fried, smoky BBQ, classic hot, and creamy red jalapeño — each providing a unique experience for spice enthusiasts and comfort food lovers.

While pizza is the centerpiece, PizzaExpress offers a comprehensive all-day dining experience. The famous Dough Balls, a signature dish, are available alongside fresh salads, handmade pastas, risottos, and lasagna.

Chandigarh diners will also enjoy a first with rice bowls. For those mindful of their calorie intake, the Leggera option presents a lighter pizza with a salad at its core, all under 600 calories. Additionally, Piadinas, which are light pizza sandwiches, are available for calorie-conscious patrons.

Dessert enthusiasts can indulge in cheesecake, mango treats, gelato, and the much-loved sticky toffee pudding. The beverage selection includes cocktails, mocktails, sangrias, a curated wine list, and specialty coffees. With smaller portions and sharing plates, diners can customize their indulgence.
