Azerbaijani streamer Subhan Mamedov, known as “Subo,” was brutally assaulted by his guest, Russian MMA fighter Shovkhal Churchaev, during a livestream in Dubai.

Mamedov reportedly paid the fighter US$30,000 for an appearance that ended in chaos over a disrespectful joke on Nov. 30.

A video of the incident, which has gone viral on social media, shows Churchaev repeatedly slapping, punching and kneeing Mamedov before dragging him across the floor. Despite being physically outmatched and taking significant blows, the streamer appeared to continue arguing with the fighter during the assault, Sportskeeda reported.

The altercation reportedly began when Mamedov mocked Churchaev, claiming the fighter had to “get on [his] knees” to beg UFC president Dana White for a contract.

While Mamedov is known for teasing his guests, the joke enraged the Chechen fighter. After a few more jokes Churchaev demanded that Mamedov kneel and apologize for the insult. When the streamer refused, the verbal confrontation escalated into a violent attack.

Streamer both lost money and was beaten

Shovkhal Churchaev beat up streamer Subo on livestream on Nov. 30, 2025.

Churchaev may now face legal consequences under UAE law. Local outlet Baku.ws quoted legal expert Maxim Silvestri, who noted that Dubai authorities take strict measures regarding public safety.

“Physical abuse of others in public or at the workplace can lead to heavy fines, even imprisonment,” Silvestri said. “In this case, the streamer is likely to be seriously injured.”

This is not Churchaev’s first involvement in violent controversies outside the octagon. In August 2022, the MMA fighter attacked and threatened Iranian opponent Mohammad Heibati during a podcast in Moscow. In September 2023, a scheduled fight between Churchaev and Shamil Galimov was canceled following a brawl at the pre-fight press conference.

Churchaev competes in the lightweight division. The Russian fighter has recorded eight wins in over 10 professional fights since his debut in 2018.
