This app will compete with Ola-Uber.
Bharat Taxi App: The cab booking market in India has till now been mainly under the control of Ola and Uber, but now a big change is about to come. For the first time in the country, an app is being launched which will be completely owned by the drivers. The name of this app is Bharat Taxi. The government told in Parliament that this app will provide more income, more rights and complete transparency to the drivers. After launch, this app will directly challenge Ola and Uber across the country.
World’s first National Mobility Cooperative App
Bharat Taxi will be operated by Sahkar Taxi Cooperative Ltd, which is a multi-state cooperative with no stake from any government department. The most special thing about this app is that its owner will be the driver himself. Drivers will be able to keep all of their earnings, and will not be charged any commission or hidden charges. Apart from this, they will also get a share in the profits and dividends every year. Currently, more than 51,000 drivers in Delhi and Saurashtra have joined the app, making it the largest driver-owned platform in the world.
Soft launch started in Delhi and Gujarat
The soft launch of Bharat Taxi app has started from 2 December 2025 in Delhi and Gujarat. Currently, the app is only available on the Android platform, while the iOS version will be released soon. The app connects all types of vehicles—scooters, bikes, autos, taxis and cars—on a single platform.
Bharat Taxi app has been made easy, secure and transparent. It offers simple interface, ride booking in less steps and fast service, giving users a hassle-free travel experience.
Complete transparency in fare and tracking
This app will show genuine fair fare and there will be no hidden charges. Passengers will get the facility of live tracking and the app will be available in multiple languages, so that everyone can use it easily. In Bharat Taxi, both drivers and passengers will get 24×7 helpline facility. Safety features are being developed in collaboration with Delhi Police to ensure safety, and every driver will be properly screened.
Which vehicles will be available?
This app will make all types of vehicles available – scooters, bikes, autos and taxis – on a single platform, so that users can choose the vehicle as per their need. Bharat Taxi app is supported by many major cooperative institutions of India like IFFCO, NCDC, AMUL (GCMMF), NABARD, NDDB, NCEL, KRIBHCO and Sahkar Bharati. There is no government investment in this app and the entire model is based on drivers and cooperative organization.
