Establishment of Plastic Waste Management Unit
Rewari: A meeting was organized for the management of plastic waste under Swachh Bharat Mission Rural Phase-2, in which DC Abhishek Meena discussed with the concerned officials. In this meeting, it was decided to set up plastic waste management units in Rewari, Nahar and Bawal blocks. DC gave necessary instructions to the officials of Panchayat Department and other concerned departments.
DC Abhishek Meena said that the government is taking concrete steps to dispose of plastic waste. In this direction, plastic waste management units are being established at the block level under Swachh Bharat Mission Rural Phase-2. Their purpose is to collect plastic waste, classify it and dispose of it through recycling or other techniques.
These units will be established in Rewari, Nahar and Bawal blocks as a pilot project in the district. The DC directed the concerned BDPOs to make arrangements for location selection, electricity connection and transportation for the unit.
The DC said that after the unit is established under the Swachh Bharat Mission, plastic waste from the villages will be collected and sent to the unit. Here, plastic waste will be reused and disposed of properly through machines, so that the environment is not harmed.
