DGCA withdraws roster order, crew gets big relief

Indigo Flights Cancelled: DGCA has finally given a big relief amid the ongoing operational crisis of Indigo Airlines for the last two days. DGCA has withdrawn the order in which crew members were barred from taking any other leave in place of weekly leave. This decision will reduce the tension of the airline staff and the hope of getting the flight system back on track has increased.

Why did DGCA withdraw its order?

In the new instructions issued by DGCA, it has been said that this decision has been taken in view of the representations received from the airlines and the existing operational irregularities. Now the rule of ‘No leave in lieu of weekly rest’ has been withdrawn with immediate effect. It is being said that this step was taken when Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu briefed Home Minister Amit Shah on this entire issue.

Indigo submits report to DGCA, claims to normalize situation within 48 hours

After increasing flight cancellations, Indigo has submitted its report to DGCA. DGCA has given strict instructions that flights should be normalized as soon as possible and ticket prices should not be allowed to increase.
IndiGo management has assured that the situation will improve significantly in the next 48 hours and the network will be stabilised.

Indigo CEO Peter Albers admits his shortcomings, apologizes to passengers

Peter Albers, CEO of IndiGo Airlines, said that they serve about 3.8 lakh passengers daily and the experience in the past few days has really not been as per expectations. He said that many challenges have come up suddenly – minor technical glitches, changed schedules, bad weather, airport congestion and new FDTL rules. All these factors have combined to impact the operations and the problems have been further increased due to the large size of the network.

Indigo is busy in normalizing operations, but the task is not easy

The CEO clearly said, “Our first goal is to normalize operations and bring back punctuality, but it is not an easy task.” The airline is working on multi-level intervention and is trying to provide hassle-free services to passengers as soon as possible. Under the supervision of DGCA, IndiGo is now in full active mode in repairing its network.
