Cobra Bite Case: A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh. The family of deceased Sikander Nath alleges that Mohit Kumar, a YouTuber and a self-proclaimed ‘snake rescuer’, along with his associates kept getting Sikander forcibly bitten by a cobra. The villagers repeatedly tried to stop them, but the accused did not listen to anyone.
It is alleged that neither treatment was given on time nor help was received at the right time. By the time he was taken to the hospital after his condition deteriorated, it was too late and he died on the way.
Bitten by a cobra and driven around in a car
In the video given by the family members, it is clearly visible that Mohit is provoking Sikandarnath. He holds the cobra in his hand and moves it towards Sikandar and says, “If it is a snake charmer, then get it bitten and treat it with your medicine.” When Sikandar refused, the accused threatened him and beat up his younger brother Karan.
The family claims that both the brothers were held hostage for hours and a video of them being bitten by a cobra was also made. Later the accused took Alexander in their car, due to which the poison quickly spread throughout his body. In a video, the accused can also be seen untying the cloth tied to his hand.
Police assured strict action
The post mortem report has confirmed that the cause of death was snake poison. Even after 25 days of the incident, the accused are absconding, due to which there is both fear and anger in the family. The pregnant wife and three small children of the deceased are in bad condition and crying. The family says that initially the police kept delaying in registering the case and only after reaching the SP office, the case was registered.
SP Dehat Sagar Jain told that in the incident of November 10, Mohit had placed a bet of Rs 10,000 and under that pressure, Sikandar was killed. Police said that on the basis of video footage and testimony, the accused will be arrested soon and strict action will be taken.
