Vietnamese travelers are at the forefront of using artificial intelligence (AI) for travel planning, according to a recent report by online platform Agoda.
The survey found that 81% of Vietnamese respondents are likely to use AI to plan their next trip, the highest rate among the nine Asian markets surveyed.
When it comes to trust in AI-generated information, 28% of Vietnamese respondents said they trust it, while 59% felt neutral, and only 13% expressed distrust.
The survey, conducted in October, included 3,353 respondents across India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Agoda’s data suggests that AI is becoming a trusted travel companion across Asia.
Overall, nearly two-thirds of Asian travelers (63%) indicated they are likely to use AI for planning future trips, highlighting a growing appetite for tech-powered travel solutions.
The survey also revealed the average Vietnamese traveler plans trips lasting 4–7 days, primarily with family (61%) or a spouse/partner (18%).
Half of Vietnamese travelers (50%) plan to travel domestically next year, nearly double last year’s 26%, according to Agoda.
Reflecting this trend, Vietnam served 125 million domestic tourists in the first ten months of this year, surpassing 110 million in the same period last year.
