UIDAI CEO Bhuvnesh Kumar told PTI that now such institutions will have to register for offline verification, which do the work of Aadhaar verification. This system will facilitate verification by scanning QR code or through the new mobile app of Aadhaar. This new rule will come into effect soon. He said that the purpose of this new rule is to stop paper-based verification.

UIDAI is testing an app

By doing verification in this new way, the problems arising in the middle server will also be removed. Institutions that want offline verification will be provided with an application programming interface (API). With this, they will be able to add this Verification System (VS) to their software.

Let us tell you that UIDAI is currently beta testing a new app. This app will provide the facility of such verification in which there will be no need to connect to the central Aadhaar database every time. It can be used at places like airports, shops and hotels. Kumar said that this will make offline verification easier, the need for paper will reduce and the security of the user’s Aadhaar data will also be maintained. Apart from this, with the help of the new app, users will be able to update their address and also add family members who do not have mobile phones.

Also, with the introduction of this new technology, user privacy and data security in Aadhaar services can be further strengthened.

Apart from this, with this change people will no longer need to carry a photocopy of Aadhaar everywhere. They will be able to easily verify their Aadhaar through the mobile app. This is another important step towards Digital India.
