When you make a mistake while sending an email on Gmail, you can undo it and unsent it. However, the undo time is quite limited. By default, you can only undo an email within 5 seconds. But did you know you can extend this time? If not, we're here to tell you about it.

You get the opportunity to undo an email as soon as you send it.

When you send an email in Gmail, a small notification appears at the bottom of the screen. This is the Undo option. Clicking or tapping on it reopens the sent email as a draft, where you can edit or delete it completely. This feature works the same way on both desktop and mobile.

Why is this feature so useful?
Email is a crucial part of professional communication, and even a small mistake can sometimes cause significant problems. The Undo Send feature reduces this risk. Whether you've misspelled a name, sent the wrong attachment, or missed an important line, everything can be corrected in a matter of seconds.

Get More Control by Increasing the Undo Send Time
Gmail also allows its users to increase the undo send time. If you use Gmail on a computer, first go to Settings in the top right corner of the Gmail page. Clicking on "Sell All Settings" will open the General tab. This is where you'll see the Undo Send option. The default time is 5 seconds, which you can increase to 10, 20, or 30 seconds.

Choosing a longer time gives you more time to pause the email after sending it. We recommend setting it to 30 seconds, as this will make it easier to correct mistakes.
