With 19 million downloads, 30 percent adoption at 24 airports and more than 77 million seamless journeys, the platform now enters 2026 with strong momentum in reach, availability and global integration. The platform aims to achieve 80 percent adoption by 2028. To further strengthen this foundation of Digi Yatra, services have been launched in six regional languages. This has made the air travel experience easier for every passenger in India. Digi Yatra is also launching electronic passport-based registration for international travel after registering its first global user, giving expats, NRIs and foreign travelers a hassle-free travel experience, who will soon be able to use the digital identity verification service, which will eliminate the need for manual verification. Digi Yatra ONEID initiative has been launched to launch this new service. Under this initiative it is working in collaboration with Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, Bureau of Immigration, ICAO and IATA. These collaborations are shaping passport and visa-based credential sharing, automated border control, and international pilot trials planned for the next fiscal year.

Apart from travel identity management, Digi Yatra is also focusing on enhancing convenience for the commuters on a daily basis. For this the company is expanding its service ecosystem. The platform now supports direct sharing of boarding passes from major airlines and travel taps such as IndiGo, Air India and MakeMyTrip, to reduce the hassle of boarding while traveling at the airport.

Digi Yatra is also looking to expand its privacy-by-design digital identity platform beyond airports (post management and regulatory approvals), which will enable secure hotel check-in and automated check-in via encrypted credentials and biometric verification. Passengers can bypass manual ID checks using facial-authentication technology for an immersive experience. The platform is also driving the adoption of this service in museums, monuments and tourist destinations, which will facilitate ticketing in areas with limited connectivity or long queues and enhance the visitor experience. Over time, expanding this model internationally will make it easier for overseas Indians to travel, while strengthening India’s tourism presence, making Digi Yatra a leading source of privacy-conscious travel and innovative hospitality.
