In a shocking case that came to light recently, more than 150 marriages ended at the last moment in the last 40 days in Indore city. The surprising thing is that the root of most of these cases were reasons to social media.

Old post became cause of controversy

According to the report, about 3 thousand marriages were fixed in Indore during this period. A large number of these marriages were annulled without any legal or family dispute, only due to mutual differences. Many marriages broke even after the mandap was decorated.

Wedding planners and event managers say that old posts, pictures and comments on social media are often becoming the cause of controversy. When old relationships or personal matters are revealed before marriage, suspicion and tension increases. This tension often ends a relationship.

Marriage broken due to pre-wedding shoot

In some cases the controversies were very shocking. In one case, during the pre-wedding shoot, a big fight broke out over the bride’s old social media posts and the wedding had to be cancelled. In another case, the bride suddenly disappeared after the sangeet ceremony. Later it came to light that she was in a relationship with someone else.

Crores spent but still broken relationship

In some weddings, crores of rupees were spent on decorations and events. Despite this the relationship could not be saved. At some places, marriages had to be canceled due to illness, family dispute or sudden death of someone close.

According to research, social media increases mistrust and tension in relationships. Research shows that excessive monitoring of partner’s online activities is becoming a major reason for fights and breakups. This problem becomes more serious especially before marriage.

Experts believe that before taking a big decision like marriage, open communication and trust are most important. Considering everything seen on social media as truth can prove to be harmful for relationships.
