The actor was questioned about the Kumbh Mela and if he would ever want to attend the religious and cultural festival during the occasion.

He said, “Yes, I would love to,” in response to the same. In fact, I would adore it.

One of the biggest and oldest religious festivals in the world, the Kumbh Mela has its roots in Hinduism. Four holy sites—Prayagraj, Haridwar, Nashik, and Ujjain—host it on a regular basis. It symbolizes the spiritual coming together of ritual, religion, and community. The event is based on the idea that during a cosmic conflict between gods and demons, droplets of amrit, or the nectar of immortality, fell at certain locations, sanctifying the rivers that run through them. Millions of devotees immerse themselves in the river as part of the ceremonial shahi snan (royal bath), which is central to the Kumbh Mela. They believe this washes sins and frees the soul from the cycle of reincarnation.

The parade of akharas—ascetic orders headed by monks, saints, and naked Naga sadhus—brings a strong spiritual and visual impact to the occasion. In addition to ceremonial bathing, the mela serves as a sizable spiritual university that hosts discussions, arguments, yoga classes, and philosophical discussions. Kumbh Mela, which involves temporary towns with roads, clinics, sanitary facilities, and security for tens of millions of people, is an achievement of contemporary government despite its ancient beginnings.

Kumbh Mela is more than simply a religious celebration; it is a live civilizational event, reflecting India’s exceptional capacity to combine mythology, mass religion, and logistics on an unparalleled scale.
