The ongoing estate dispute linked to late industrialist Sunjay Kapur has taken a fresh and emotional turn. His sister Mandhira Kapur has now publicly spoken out making strong statements about Sunjay’s widow Priya Sachdev Kapur. Her remarks have added more fuel to the already intense legal and family battle surrounding the multibillion-dollar estate. What did Mandhira Kapur say? Mandhira recently appeared on a podcast where she openly questioned Priya’s position within the Kapur family and the business legacy left behind by her brother. Without holding back Mandhira said Priya should not be seen as the representative of the family or the company. She stated clearly “We will take this legacy forward we being the Kapoors. Shes not the face for this family. Shes not the face for this company. She shouldnt even be around…” Mandhira further compared the situation to something deeply personal. Speaking about the family’s journey and legacy she said “Our journey with Sona was very personal. Weve been very proud of Sona. Dad was an innovator. Its like our child is being kidnapped and we will find it.” She also challenged Priya directly asking her to go on record and say that Sunjay “didn’t give a damn” about his children from his previous marriage to actor Karisma Kapoor. What is the entire matter? The legal battle revolves around Sunjay Kapur’s massive estate worth Rs 30.000 crore. His children Samaira and Kiaan from his marriage to Karisma Kapoor are currently locked in a dispute with Priya Sachdev Kapur. The children have approached the Delhi High Court claiming that the will presented by Priya is not genuine. They have alleged that the will is “forged and fabricated” and was created to exclude them from their late father’s inheritance. Following a court hearing on November 17 notices were issued to Priya and the executor of the will asking them to submit replies within three weeks. More about Sunjay Kapur Sunjay Kapur was the chairman of Sona Comstar a major name in the auto components industry. He passed away in June while playing a polo match in London. Since his death the question of who rightfully carries forward his legacy has remained at the center of the controversy.
