Actor Saiyami Kher is currently in the middle of shooting Haiwaan an upcoming film directed by Priyadarshan and headlined by Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan. Speaking about the project Saiyami described the experience as nothing short of delightful calling the film a creatively satisfying space where every day on set feels exciting. “I’m doing a film which I’m having an absolute ball on” Saiyami shared adding that the shoot is expected to wrap up by the end of the month. She also revealed that she will soon begin work on another project which she described as an author-backed role that will push her as an actor though details are being kept under wraps for now. What makes Haiwaan different from usual thrillers? Saiyami revealed that Haiwaan is loosely adapted from a Malayalam film but does not fit neatly into a single genre. According to her the film blends drama suspense and emotion in a way that feels fresh and unpredictable. She credited director Priyadarshan for shaping a narrative that keeps the cast creatively engaged. One of the biggest highlights for Saiyami has been watching Akshay Kumar in a role unlike anything he has done in recent years. “You’re going to see Akshay sir in a way we haven’t seen him in many many years because of what he’s chosen to do” she said hinting at a performance that breaks away from expectations. Saiyami was equally generous in her praise for Saif Ali Khan calling his performance in the film “incredible.” While she avoided giving away plot details she expressed excitement about audiences witnessing Akshay and Saif together on screen once again. Off camera she described Saif as effortlessly hilarious. “I don’t know if it’s intentional or unintentional but he’s one of the funniest people I’ve been around. His sense of humour cracks you up every time” she said. What is the vibe like during outdoor shoots? With portions of the film shot in Ooty and Cochin Saiyami described the outdoor schedules as relaxed and fun-filled. Sharing scenes with both actors felt like a “picnic” she said largely because of the easygoing nature of her co-stars. Akshay’s boundless energy she added keeps the mood upbeat even between takes. “We’re always playing something cricket or some sport before the shot. He’s completely present all the time” Saiyami shared. As for Akshay’s reputation as a prankster she laughed it off saying there was simply no time for pranks because everyone was too busy playing sports. What is Haiwaan actually about? Directed by Priyadarshan Haiwaan marks yet another collaboration between Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan and has already sparked curiosity for placing both stars in unexpected roles. The film is an adaptation of Mohanlal’s 2016 Malayalam hit Oppam which follows the story of a visually impaired man whose heightened senses make him an unlikely protector. Working as a caretaker for a retired judge the protagonist is pulled into a dangerous mystery after the judge’s murder forcing him to rely on instinct intelligence and courage to uncover the truth.
