Major telecom companies including Reliance Jio, Airtel have launched Caller Name Presentation (Caller Name Presentation) in many states.CNAP) Service has started. With the help of this feature, now even when a call comes from an unknown number, the name of the caller will appear on the screen, which will make it easier to identify even before picking up the phone.

Till now, people had to depend on third-party apps like Truecaller for this work, but after the instructions of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), companies have started providing this facility at the network level.

The same name which is recorded in the ID will appear on the screen.

When a call is received under CNAP service, the same name will be visible which the user has entered in his valid ID while purchasing the SIM. This means that now instead of fake name or saved contact, the real identity will be revealed. This feature will be on by default, although users who do not want to use it will be able to deactivate it. Let us tell you that telecom companies had already tested this service in Mumbai and Haryana. After successful testing, it is now being implemented in other states in a phased manner.

Fraud calls and cyber crimes will be controlled

This step of TRAI and Department of Telecommunications is being considered as a big weapon against fraud calls. Now even before picking up the call, the user will be able to know whether the person in front is a known person or an unknown person. This is expected to curb cases like fake bank calls, lottery scams and digital arrests to a great extent. According to experts, CNAP will help common people avoid falling into the trap of hackers and scammers.

CNAP service started in these states

According to media reports, Reliance Jio has started this service in many states including Haryana, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Kerala, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha. At the same time, Airtel has activated CNAP feature in Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and West Bengal.

Talking about Vodafone Idea, the company has started this service in some areas of Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. Government telecom company BSNL is currently testing CNAP in West Bengal and it is expected to expand in the coming time.
