Indian equity benchmarks ended the December 22 session on a positive note, with the Nifty closing above the 26,100 level, even as selling pressure was visible in select heavyweight stocks. The Sensex advanced 638.12 points, or 0.77 percent, to settle at 85,567.48, while the Nifty added 206 points, or 0.79 percent, to close at 26,172.40.
