Abhishek Banerjee’s helicopter controversy and Rampurhat visit

Desk: Trinamool Congress national general secretary and Diamond Harbor MP, Abhishek Banerjee on Tuesday used Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s helicopter. He reached Rampurhat in Hemant Soren’s helicopter and addressed a meeting there.

Meeting with security officials and best wishes for the new year

Earlier, administrative services and police officers of Jharkhand paid a courtesy visit to Hemant Soren and wished him a happy New Year. However, political controversy arose when Abhishek Banerjee’s planned helicopter was not granted flying permission. He blamed BJP on this issue and said that they cannot be stopped by such moves.

Accusations and predictions on BJP

During the meeting, Abhishek Banerjee expressed regret for arriving late. He said that even though the elections have not been officially announced yet, BJP has already started its strategies. Banerjee alleged that her helicopter was deliberately denied permission. He clarified that BJP is trying to stop him, but he is more stubborn in the face of it.

Helicopter permission issue

Abhishek Banerjee told that when he faced problems in getting the necessary permissions for the helicopter, he contacted Hemant Soren. Subsequently, Soren’s helicopter was arranged so that he could reach Rampurhat. Under helicopter flying rules, permission has to be obtained 72 hours in advance from the DGCA, which includes information to the pilot, helicopter and security.

Temperature drop and snow cover on crops

Cold continues to wreak havoc in Jharkhand, where the temperature in McCluskieganj has dropped to 1.5 degrees Celsius, causing a layer of snow on crops. There was a possibility of getting permission from DGCA at 11 am on Tuesday, but it was not approved. It was not clear whether this permission was not given due to dense fog or due to some technical problem in the helicopter.
