Cold is raging in the country’s capital Delhi. India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Delhi NCR on January 7 and 8. This morning the minimum temperature in Delhi has reached 5 degrees Celsius and a warning of cold day with cold winds has also been given. This situation will be more effective today and tomorrow especially in Delhi.

For the last three days, the sun was shining in Delhi NCR, which provided some relief from the cold during the day and the temperature came down at night. The weather had remained clear since January 1, but from today there will be a change again in the entire area. According to the India Meteorological Department, today Delhi will remain cloudy throughout the day and sunshine may be rare.

Cold winds will blow at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour, due to which the temperature will feel even colder. For this reason, a cold day alert has been issued for Delhi. Yellow alert will also be effective for Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon and Faridabad today and tomorrow.

According to the India Meteorological Department, today the maximum temperature of Delhi has been recorded at 14 degrees and the minimum at 5 degrees Celsius. Delhi’s AQI has reached 310, which falls in the poor category. The temperature in Noida was recorded at 18/7 degrees and AQI 314.

Ghaziabad’s AQI has been recorded at 322, Greater Noida’s 320 and Gurgaon’s 303. The AQI in Faridabad was 220, which is slightly better than other cities. Due to cold winds and clouds, there is no possibility of any major improvement in air quality at present.

According to IMD, on January 7 and 8, the entire Delhi NCR will be cloudy with cold winds and there may be dense fog in many areas from morning to afternoon. Cold day conditions will persist in Delhi, while the effect of cold will be clearly visible in the surrounding cities also.

The first low pressure area of ​​the month of January has formed in the Bay of Bengal, which has now turned into deep low pressure. Due to its impact, there is a possibility of heavy rain in southern Tamil Nadu on January 10. Heavy to very heavy rainfall may also occur in most parts of Sri Lanka. The weather of North, Central and Eastern India will remain dry at present, while dense fog is expected in the Ganga plains and many districts of Rajasthan.
