UDF: The UDF remained strong in large parts of central and northern Kerala. The Morcha retained its lead in Ernakulam, Alappuzha, Malappuram, Kottayam and Palakkad districts. Apart from this, his performance was excellent in Idukki and Pathanamthitta.

LDF: In this election, LDF had to lose some of its strongholds. In the last elections, he had won 5 municipal corporations. This time only one seat came into account. If we talk about municipalities, the party will remain in its traditional stronghold. Like Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Kozhikode districts were successful in maintaining their dominance.
