The Philippines, known for its incredible biodiversity and pristine coral reefs, has been voted the world’s leading dive destination at the 2025 World Travel Awards.
This was the seventh time it held the title.
Renowned for its pristine coral reefs, historic shipwrecks, and crystal-clear, warm waters, the Philippines has long been a favorite among scuba divers.
Beach tourism plays a vital role in the Philippine economy, fueled by the country’s tropical climate and its unique geography of over 7,000 islands.
Manila, the country’s capital, was named the world’s leading city destination while Boracay, a small island spanning seven kilometers 300 km south of Manila, was voted the world’s leading luxury island destination.
The World Travel Awards, established in 1993, recognize excellence in the travel and tourism industry and are often referred to as the “Oscars of the travel industry.”
These annual awards are determined by votes from both travel industry professionals and the public.
